Bachpan ka Pyaar singer Sahdev Dirdo grievously hurt in road accident

Sahdev Dirdo, a native of tribal-dominated and Naxal-hit Sukma district, became an Internet sensation in the middle of this year after a video of him singing ‘Bachpan ka Pyaar’ in school uniform went viral.

10-year-old Sahdev Dirdo was shot to fame after a video of him singing Bachpan ka Pyaar went viral on the Internet, but he was injured on Tuesday when the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion skidded on the road in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, police said.

Dirdo, who was not wearing a helmet, fell and suffered a severe head injury, while the rider sustained minor bruises, said Sunil Sharma, Superintendent of Sukma.

Sharma said that after preliminary treatment, the boy was referred to the Jagdalpur Medical College hospital.

As soon as they heard about the accident, Sukma Collector Vineet Nandanwar and Sharma visited the district hospital and inquired about the man’s condition. An official statement said Bhupesh Baghel ordered Nandanwar to provide best medical aid to Dirdo as soon as possible.

Dirdo, a native of the tribal and Naxalite-affected Sukma district, became an Internet sensation in mid-2016 after a video of him singing ‘Bachpan ka Pyaar’ in school uniform went viral.

His teacher reportedly filmed the video inside his classroom in 2019. In August, he and Badshah teamed up for a new version of the song.
