The dresses that are worn out are often discarded, but what happens if you were in love with the touch and feel of a particular dress and somehow don’t want to discard it even if it doesn’t fit you anymore. Modify your worn out or old outfits into something more meaningful that you can carry on wearing in the present day.
Ashima Sharma, owner of Ashima S Couture and Nidhi Yadav, founder, AKS Clothing are sharing some tips to modify an existing outfit that is worn out.
*Making a top out of a worn-out dress: Take your dress and cut it the required size of a top and sew the raw edges from inside. Then, using the dress’ inseam as a guide, cut the top of the dress’ sleeves down to where it hits the mid-section of the upper arm. Now, sew 1/4th inches of the raw edges inside the sleeves to create a clean edge. To make it look more stylish, take a yard of a ribbon and cut it in half and sew one ribbon per side, to the inside of the dress. Now tie these ribbons to create a cute bow on your shoulder.
Pakistani designer Khadija Shah, whose label Élan is making an India debut, finds both the neighbouring countries sharing the same taste and sensibilities along with similar culture and identities. She says she planned to bring the brand to India as it has received a love from here.
“India is a country with tastes and sensibilities very similar to Pakistan. We share a similar culture, history, and identities. Over the years, Élan has received a lot of love from India, from some getting in touch with us for couture and bridal wear, to others reaching us in markets like Dubai and Singapore for our ready to wear collections.
Undeniably, Ranbir Kapoor’s personal style is quite impressive. Be it a traditional attire or a tuxedo, Kapoor knows how to carry himself with utmost grace. As the actor turns a year older on September 28, let’s take a look at some of his best fashion statements of 2018.
While attending Sonam Kapoor’s reception ceremony, the Brashmastra actor looked dapper in a textured white kurta-pyjama combo teamed with an asymmetric bandhgala from Manish Malhotra.
Dia Mirza pulls off ethnic wear with so much ease that she has been an inspiration to many. Recently, we spotted her hosting the Champions of the Earth Awards at New York alongside Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin. For the event, she chose a Payal Khandwala sari from the designer’s Gemini’18 collection and we think she looked gorgeous in it.
The grey and gold coloured sari was teamed with a top featuring an interesting neckline detailing. For the accessories, stylist Theia Tekchandaney picked a statement necklace and matching earrings. A neutral make-up palette with a gorgeous half-tied hairdo gave finishing touches to her look.
Esha Gupta knows how to make heads turn with her impressive sartorial choices. Her casual outfits have mostly managed to get a thumbs up from us and this time too, it was no different. Clad in a pink and red outfit, we think the Rustom actor looked lovely.

Are bucket hats back for good again? If the ongoing ten day long Paris Fashion Week is any indication, it may be a good time to clean the dust off your old bucket hat and put it back on. The runway in Paris is considered to be a place where trends are set, and this season, there are a lot of bucket hats.
For those of you who want to know what a bucket hat is, it is a wide, downward-sloping hat made of cotton, wool or other heavy duty fabrics. Known to be first adopted as a high fashion item in the 1960s, it was later revived several times in both street fashion and on the ramp. In what was a thing of the ’90s, looks like it is set to hit the wardrobe again.
White and blue seem to be the favourite colours of Bollywood celebrities these days as most of them have been spotted donning these hues while sashaying down the airport. While Anushka Sharma, Esha Gupta and Malaika Arora sported a mix of both the colours, Shilpa Shetty picked a monochrome outfit. Let’s take a look at some of the interesting airport styles from this week.
During Sui Dhaaga promotions, Anushka Sharma had shown us some great ways to sport stylish outfits – right from her monotone ensembles to jumpsuits and floral dresses. Looks like the fashionable streak is going to continue.
Recently, the 30-year-old was seen stepping out in an all-blue outfit from her own brand, Nush and she looked lovely in it. Her ensemble included a pair of flared, paper bag waist jeans that was combined with a ruffle top in a slightly darker shade. Stylist Allia Al Rufai added oomph to her monotone outfit by pairing it with golden heels. For the make-up, artist Sandhya Shekar rounded off her look with a dewy sheen and well-defined eyes whereas, hairstylist Franco Vallelonga styled her hair in a messy ponytail that complemented her look well.
