We have been seeing a shift in matrimonial trend where we see many in the early forties n even late fifties or early sixties coming forward to sign up with us . They maybe those who have either missed the bus earlier or are contemplating to give it a second try!
Monika Agarwal
In the early times, parents got paranoid if their children were not married n settled in their twenties! Late marriages have become a trend now.
We, at “Match Me”, have many clients ranging in the age group 40 to 60. Majority of the ones in their forties are career oriented n totally focussed. Marriage was never contemplated in the race of building a successful career. Or maybe they just didn’t meet the right one. Divorce has become very acceptable now . The mindset of parents today has also changed drastically where parents have stopped thinking like the parents of yester years who thought of divorce as a taboo. After a few years of divorce ,Loneliness begins to creep in n the need to resettle for emotional security n companionship makes them want to give marriage a second chance! Children today are also open to the idea of their single parent marrying again! They support their parents to look out for a compatible partner .
We, at “Match Me” are dealing with many ‘second timers’ and it really makes us sit back n think, “Is this the new age, new mindset or the new trend?!?”

INTERVIEW BY NITISH RAJ
When did you start writing or how you feel that you should write down your imagination?
I would say it’s genetic. My father writes poetry and I feel his creativity has passed on to me. As a teenager when one goes through a transition phase in life, it’s very difficult to share your thoughts with anyone. I found solace in noting down my random thoughts in my diary. Just that my words were in the form of poetry.
How are you feeling after publishing your second book in a span of six months?
It is an incredible feeling. I never gathered courage until my family and wellwishers after reading my work encouraged me to get them published. The roughly drafted thoughts were already there and I just needed to compile them into a book. The progression from the first to the second was smooth and the journey was indeed an interesting experience. We better ourselves with each move.
What aspects of poetry makes it more influencing than fiction?
For me I do a lot of introspection and draw inspiration from real life experiences and the people I meet. It’s important that the readers are able to connect with the poet. Poetry being the reflection of a poet’s personality makes it stand apart from other forms of art.
What role does poetry play in influencing the thought-process of mere mortals?
Poetry is a genre that creates an aura around the most ordinary emotion. They help to portray a blend of reality and fantasy and resonate with the reader’s life. It is the bridge between our heart and words spoken from our soul.
At the time when fiction has overshadowed poetry, what initiatives are taken by modern poets in order to attract the young readers?
I always feel the essence of poetry is one’s innermost emotion captured right. Remaining true to the feelings and expressing them has always worked. They may have been overshadowed
by fiction at the moment but they shall never be lost. You will always find readers’ who still believe in the age old charm of literature written in verse. Social media has been instrumental in engaging the young readers.
At the time when English language is becoming a part and parcel of our life, how much a poetry collection in Hindi language hold it’s relevance?
Hindi is the second most spoken language in the world. It will always hold it’s fort no matter what. There will always be raving fans of poetry who appreciate the significant contributions of our language in our culture and traditions. The lyrical recital still enthralls the enthusiasts. You can’t deny the fact that emotions are better conveyed in Hindi than in English.
How do you manage time for writing with your loving child who actually need special care?
I feel finding time for something one is passionate about is not difficult. For me penning down my thoughts is like breathing.I can do it almost anytime, anywhere. It’s all about time management! And as far as writing is concerned, while taking care of my child with special needs, I draw a lot of inspiration from her. Her never give-up attitude and zest for life inspires me to pursue my dream of writing.
What would be your advice to the young budding poets?
I would advise the budding poets to follow their heart while writing. Express yourself in words you believe in , they have an instant connect with the reader. Not everyone is blessed with the thought-process required for writing , especially poetry. So one must exploit this talent to the optimum.
She loves every ounce of her..
She shed tears for a moment and then gets up to fight again..
She stands up for what she believes in….
She never settles for what she is..
She has the world at her fingertips…
She refuses to be defeated..
She is strong
..because she is a woman
I have a story and I don’t feel ashamed to share it as I believe it will inspire a lot of women out there who like me at some point of time thought of ending their life. Perhaps due to depression, rejection or lack of any support or motivation.
Being a survivor of women violence, having a median nerve injury in my right hand, I am unable to perform any kind of activities. I have gone through many difficult phases of life. But I have overcome my fears, overcome my disabilities, and here I am stronger, more determined to achieve my goals in life. I chose to rise and fight against the deterrents of life in spite of a tough battle with my family. Every time I felt low, I picked myself up and tried again and again and again…
You may feel week, but within you is the strength to live, within you is the strength to overcome and achieve what you deserve.
Nothing can stop you until and unless you give up. With the median nerve injury I lost Almost 10 kgs..
I always love myself being fat or fit.. But falling in love with the process of becoming the very best version of yourself is always awesome.
Eating healthy makes me happy.. And i never believe in starving.. You don’t have to eat less but you need to eat right. Results don’t show overnight. It will require dedication, it will require willpower, it will require sacrifices.. But it’s worth it…
Always remember “All progress takes place outside the comfort zone”
Inspired by Aditi Govitrikar Mrs World 2001. Always believing that a girl is complete when she becomes a woman, and playing different roles in her life like a wife, a mother, a daughter-in-law..
Joining a beauty pageant was always my dream. Pageantry allows women to become a better version of themselves. Beauty, Brain and heart mix well.. Its brings out passion and poise. Improves your communication skills… It’s not about competing with others but with yourself.

From centuries Indian Goddesses has been worshipped down from the hoary past as nurturing mothers, protectors of community, human problems, symbols of purity, the origins of the fertility of the crops and human being. They are the source of power for Hindu religion. Warrior goddess, whose mythology centres around combating evils and demonic forces that threaten peace, prosperity and dharma of the good. Women were always been empowered. Celebrating womanhood.. celebrating empowered woman..

I am also working for the welfare of animals.. with my NGO ‘Awas foundation’. Where i am working for the security and wellness of street animals.
My family was a constant support in my success journey.. Me as responsible queen want to help any other women become economically independent, make them aware of different women rights, to make the society more responsible towards women-related causes, to provide them platforms where they can showcase their creativity and talent, to help them get guidance and counselling over issues and most importantly, to motivate them and to support them to do things that will make them stand taller with Pride & Dignity.
No matter what happens I will continue on this journey wherever life takes me.
Because I put my heart and soul into my own transformation as woman. So I make it my legacy to change to way beauty is perceived but most importantly to change the way women see themselves.
This is my life and my journey to share, empower, grow and inspire! I will never stop fighting because life is to beautiful not too.
