Health update for Lata Mangeshkar: Improvement in her health, according to family

Her family said on Tuesday that Lata Mangeshkar’s health has “marginally improved” but she remains in the ICU. On January 8, the 92-year-old singer was diagnosed with Coronavirus with mild symptoms and moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai.
Through her official Instagram account, Mangeshkar’s family asked people once again not to spread “disturbing rumours” about her health condition. Mangeshkar’s official Twitter account tweeted: “There has been a marginal improvement in Lata Didi’s health and she is still in intensive care.
Kindly refrain from spreading disturbing rumours or falling prey to random messages regarding Didi’s health. Thank you.” Mangeshkar’s family said he’s being treated by a team of doctors, headed by Dr.

Pratit Samdani.

Anusha Srinivasan Iyer, a close family friend, wrote in a statement, “It is not possible to provide updates daily, as this is a direct intrusion into the family’s privacy. Please be sensitive to this issue.”.

In 1942, at the age of thirteen, Mangeshkar began her career as a singer and has over 30,000 songs to her credit in several Indian languages. Throughout her seven-decade career, she has sung numerous memorable songs such as “Ajeeb dastan hai ye”, “Pyar kiya to darna kya”, “Neela asman so gaya”, and “Tere liye”.
